How many of you read your horoscope?
I used to LOVE reading them when I was younger, making every word fit into some aspect of my life. ‘Like, OMG, that’s so me, how do they know?..I can totally relate!‘
Like a lot of things, my love for horoscopes tailed off and I never checked or thought of them too often, but recently I have taken an interest again and started looking into the personality traits of my star sign.
Obviously I am a Capricorn. Otherwise this would be a rather misguided post!
Getting older, I feel a little bit lost. I think we grow up believing that we will feel more settled and somehow know ourselves better as we age but the reality is that you are often left with more questions than answers.
We often want to grow as people but in order to do that, you have to understand yourself a little better.
I find that there is something quite captivating in reading something that relates to you so much. That you can pinpoint a reason why you are the way you are.
I’m stubborn? Oh, yeah, i’m a Capricorn! And with that, no one questions it any further. Typical Capricorn trait.
But how much of it is really down to the deep rooted personality traits of a star sign, and how much do we find a way to make it relate?
One memory from school that really sticks out to me was the comparison between the main Winnie The Pooh characters and The Four Temperaments. Your Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Geeky, but interesting!
I was always an Eeyore.
Earth element – Melancholy. Cautious. Methodical. Fussy eater (sweet tooth). Likes order. Emotional. Serious. Sense of humour (ish). Empathetic.
It’s just so, me.
Ironic as Eeyore was always my favourite from a young age. It was Eeyore I carried around and took to bed, worried he would be sad or lonely if left alone. I just couldn’t see the appeal others had for Piglet and Tigger! Too happy. #sorrynotsorry
The earth element is also strongly connected to the Capricorn zodiac sign.
Bamboozling at best! Food for thought.
There has to be something in it, more than just guessing the state of my love life in a short paragraph at the back of a magazine. Or do I just want to believe there is?
Is your personality in sync (I almost instinctively typed nsync here) with your star sign or element?
Or have I just lost the plot and it’s all nonsense?
I am very much considering some ‘self help’ books to learn about myself further. I really dislike the term ‘self help’ but it is what it is!
If you have any recommendations then let me know!
