Primark just got very sophisticated with their My Private Collection range. In fact, if you have read the hype about this range – Primark are rivalling Jo Malone.
When I read about this collection on the beautiful Fashionicide blog, I had to see what the fuss was about.
Could it really be that good? I mean, could they really take on Jo Malone? Well, yes! Yes they can.
I spent a good 20 minutes at the stand smelling, comparing, oohing and aahing. So much so that I became a little nose blind and couldn’t work out which scents I liked best, which in turn hindered my ability to only buy a couple as I had told myself I would.
Well, I say that. I actually was quite restrained and bought the rollerball perfume samples, which are unisex may I add. This comes with all the scents in travel size bottles which I thought would be ideal for testing. In reality, testing so that I know which scents to go back and buy the full range of!
But when the range is between £3 and £8 (a mere fraction of the price of Jo Malone perfumes at £88) I think I can allow myself that luxury.
The scents available are – Rose Oud, Pomegranate & Black Tea, Jasmine & Honey, Vanilla Absolute, Amber Noir and Mandarin & Basil.
Looking at the scents above, you can see where the Jo Malone comparison has come from, long lasting, interesting scents along with the packaging as seen below. Minimal, sleek, glass bottles.
The thing I find even more exciting about the ‘My Private Collection’ range is that it is not just perfumes. You can kit your whole house out with these scents!
So we have the perfumes in travel, 20ml and 100ml bottles. We also have hand wash, hand cream, room spray and diffusers in the scents mentioned above. And gift sets if you fancy a couple of smaller sizes.
I can’t comment on my favourites, I definitely have favourites but they change depending on mood and situation. I definitely want to head back and get some of the diffusers though. And maybe a bigger bottle of perfume, i’m thinking Mandarin and Basil or Amber Noir.
Will you be going to check the Primark My Private Collection out? Had you heard of it already?
