Something that I think has been a long time coming will finally be released next month, Gucci Décor.
What do we think?
Whether it’s the Gucci belt, the Marmont bags, the Dionysus bags, the sneakers or the shoes (we’re talking boots, loafers and heeled loafers to name a few) there is no denying that Gucci have had a massive revival.
Quite noticeably with the help of bloggers.
So it comes as no surprise that the next step was to make a Gucci homeware collection. Gucci Décor has been designed by the fabulous Alessandro Michele (Guccis creative director who I just think gets it so right) and will hold a full range of products. We’re talking candles, wallpapers, cushions, chairs, crockery to silk screens.
I, personally, love a lot of items in the line. I like that it’s an eclectic collection. The items are not matchy matchy but equally work really well together.
The collection definitely has that Gucci stamp. It’s bright, it’s fun, a bit quirky but equally beautiful.
The problem is, the average person can’t afford to spend these amounts on such frivolous items (Christmas perhaps?) as they range from around £150 for a candle to an eye watering £20,000+ for a screen.
As much as I would love to splash the cash on this range (those velvet, embroidered cushions) I can’t justify it.
At a push I would consider buying a candle as a collectors item as they themselves look like stand out pieces, but heaven forbid it ever be lit. Quelle horreur!
What do you think? Will you be looking to purchase anything?
The Gucci Décor collection will be available online and in selected stores. I’m almost as excited to see how quickly things sell out.
Is life about to get a lot more, Gucci?
