In my previous post on the Gucci Décor homeware collection, we went high end, so let’s throw it back to dupes/imitations and affordability. A good old Chloé Faye backpack dupe.
The Chloé Faye bag and backpack have been popular for quite a while but I am just starting to notice a lot of dupes for it in stores (maybe that’s just me and they have been out for ages)!
Look, i’m not complaining. It’s a gorgeous bag and for those of us with different money priorities, imitations can be a great thing without having to make a big sacrifice elsewhere.
Obviously as to be expected, the quality is not going to compare but that doesn’t mean the quality is bad. In fact, the realist in me would hope and expect a difference in quality at over £1000 difference in cost!
Anyhow, let’s all wonder at the bag below which is the infamous Chloé Faye backpack in all it’s glory.
Which really is very aesthetically pleasing to my eyes!
(Please tell me some of you are also buying anything with a hoop/ring? Belts, shoes and bags. I am buying into them all. Numerous times.)
I posted a picture of my new favourite little backpack on Instagram and people seemed to really like it. Now my one is obviously VERY loosely imitating the Chloé version and i’m totally fine with that because it’s a great size and the practicality sold it to me. Oh, and it was £9. That probably helped.
It’s small, it’s cute and it looks like a more grown up and put together backpack. It holds everything I need a bag to hold and for the price, I have no complaints. Zero. And for £9, this is where dupes can be wonderful things!
Now, as I said, my one is obviously very loosely imitating the Chloé but for those of you who love a good dupe, I found these ones below which look great! Personally, I like the black and grey a little more than the pink but they all look adorable and I can only imagine that this is the type of item people would stop you in the street and ask where you got it!
Better yet, these are under £16 each. I kid you not. (pictures are clickable links to each bag)
I think there is a line between imitation and copying. These bags don’t pretend to be designer, they are simply influenced which I think you will always find with fashion.
How do you feel about dupes?
