I was really interested in going to the chain SMOKE BBQ. Forget cutlery (of course, optional) and get stuck in!
I am partial to a rough and ready meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy and Instagram ready if the flavour is there. And, who doesn’t like barbecue food?
Based on West Regent Street in Glasgow, it is so close to the city centre it would have been rude not to.
The building is lovely, on a corner which gets the evening sun and with all the wood and kitchen smells in the background it really sets the mood for what’s to come!
It also wasn’t too noisy despite being open plan which I think is great! There is nothing worse than the rise of voices trying to be heard over one another as you eat.
We were lucky to receive a booth by the window, awaited our soft drinks in obligatory mason jars and studied the menu.
Not knowing the portion size and looking at the tables around us we decided to go for the
Brisket Plate – Brisket, burnt ends and brisket hash spiced and rubbed then smoked for up to 18hrs. Comes with twice cooked chips.
We also got a side of the Jalapeno Corn Bread Muffins and Crisp Onion Strings.
I don’t think the portion size looks like much in the pictures but it was more than enough for two.
It really is..eat of the plate, fingers in..messy eating at it’s finest. I LOVED the brisket hash. All the food was lovely, just to put that out there. But, especially the brisket hash.
There was a bottle of SMOKE BBQs own sauce on the table as well which was delicious.
The meal was so filling we couldn’t consider having desert. But I took a picture of the menu – Banoffee Pie and S’mores? Another visit may be needed just for that!
Is SMOKE BBQ your type of restaurant?
