Peter has been harping on about trying this place, Prep Fitness Kitchen, for ages. Ages!
While we had a few days in Glasgow, he finally got his way and we went for lunch.
I wasn’t opposed to going, but telling me how it was great for gym goers, healthy balanced meals and working out macros and whatnot. I wasn’t convinced it was for me. Not on a trip away.
Anyway, it was a gloriously sunny day! Not one to complain about the sun, but then I am British.. it was almost too sunny to take pictures, so apologies if the pictures look very over exposed.. that’s natural light for you.
The menu is far more varied than I expected but I wasn’t overwhelmed by the choices. Maybe I had a particular taste in mind on that day (As you’ll see..it was nuts).
I picked the Chicken Satay Skewers which came with a sweet potato mash with broccoli and carrots and cashews and some rock salt for flavouring.
Surprisingly tasty and I don’t mean that as a negative to Prep Fitness Kitchen, I think seasoning is a personal thing but that was my type of seasoning. I don’t often add salt to my food but it tastes great with freshly cooked vegetables.
It was a lot of food for me, I find nutty sauces quite filling. I didn’t finish the meal but I would highly recommend (if you like nutty flavours).
Peter went for the Harissa Chicken Burger, I think it looks great. Fresh. I didn’t taste it so I can’t comment too much.
He ate it all though, including the tomato. That says a lot to me.
To drink we had a protein shake and a fresh juice.
This is where I made a big mistake. If I see peanut butter on a drinks menu, i’m ordering it. Mixed with the Chicken Satay Skewers, in hindsight..it was perhaps a bit much.
I chose the Banana Butter shake and I think Peter chose the Rise and Shine juice. Both were lovely, pop in and get one to take away!
I really liked Prep Fitness Kitchen, I have recommended it to a few people since and would definitely go back (much to Peters delight). Really good, tasty food, full of flavour without the guilt.
Even if just to take food away, they had a great stand by the door of hot and cold meal options to take away. Including desserts.
They are located on Bath Street in Glasgow city centre. Pop in and check them out!
