I had my first Giraffe Aberdeen Restaurant experience!
This post is WAY overdue but..I think pictures are important, especially of food.. and sometimes technology does not want to play on the same team. After countless attempts of downloading, exporting, uploading, different cameras..we got there!
I had been meaning to go to Giraffe for so long.
When the chance came to go with the blogging girls, it was perfect.
I was also snap happy (sorry girls!) because I love taking pictures of food. One point to make though – Giraffe is not the place to go if you want to take pretty pictures, it is so dark! Definitely not made with bloggers in mind.
We started off the evening with some fabulous cocktails
The Mango Mule looked amazing – Mango vodka, apple and lime. Shaken and served long over ice then topped with ginger beer
I had the Bramble Garden – Gin, cucumber, apple, blackberries and elderflower. Topped with soda and served long over ice which was so lovely and very pretty but didn’t photograph well due to the lighting. The Mango Mule is the yellow one pictured above.
For main I had the Goan Veggie Curry – Tenderstem broccoli, butternut squash, roasted red pepper, sugar snaps, coriander and chilli. Served with brown rice.
I have said this before, I do really love a veggie meal – Having posted a couple of them here and when done well, they are so great. They do not have to be bland and boring and you certainly don’t feel anything is missing from your plate as a meat eater. I was a little bit cautious when ordering this dish as a couple of the girls had mentioned that it had a..kick. Not one to mess around with spice, I braced myself for a challenge but no fear was needed. It was really, really delicious and something I would happily eat again and again.
For dessert I then had the White Chocolate & Passion Fruit Cheesecake – Drizzled with fresh passion fruit. Oh my days. This was incredible. When I think of cheesecake, I think dense but smooth but this was the fluffiest, smoothest, melt in the mouth cheesecake I have ever had. On another level. Mouth. Watering. The flavour also wasn’t too overpowering, which means you can easily devour the full slice. I have raved about this to so many people, if you go to Giraffe for one thing, make it the cheesecake.
I had such a great night out and trying the menu and definitely heading back soon
