PURE Papaya OintmentSaturday, December 21, 2013
My penultimate SBN Christmas post :)
I apologise that this post is late. I have had a nightmare few days getting home for Christmas! This morning we were up bright and early for our 7.50am flight, which got us home... circled above the airport for half an hour then took us back to Inverness! Ahhh! Trust there to be a lightning storm directly above the airport JUST as we are about to land! So we had to go back, refuel.. eat some breakfast and after 4 hours, eventually made it back to our destination!
Enough of my Christmas woes though! Today we have PURE Papaya Ointment £9.99. I was so excited to try this, I have heard so much about Paw Paw balms and ointments (all good). I fortunately do not have many of the problems in which they claim the ointment is good for (nursing nipples, chafing, tattoo aftercare) so I have been using this for chapped lips and on any dry patches of skin.
' In addition to papaya, or pawpaw, ingredients include soothing calendula, shea butter, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, styrax benzoin resin, silica, beeswax and vitamin E.'
Ok, back to my woes... I am SO weak I really struggle to squeeze this out of the tube! It is very thick, which is great because that makes me think - super moisturising! But I do find it difficult to squeeze out.. as I said, I am weak! So this could just be me! Let me know haha.
I get really dry lips in the colder weather and when I put any thick moisturiser or cream on it tends to coat my lips rather than sink in, and this has still happened with this product which is why I tend to use it in my nightly routine. This does not mean it doesn't work or that I dislike it, it is moisturising and my lips do feel soft but it does leave a white film on my lips which I would obviously prefer to remove before any face to face interaction!
I have also been using this for dry areas of skin. I am lucky in that I don't often get these.. but again with the colder weather I do get the odd breakout on my cheeks and arms so I have been applying a little bit of the Papaya Ointment to the problem areas and leaving it overnight and it really helps! I can still feel slight dry areas on my skin but they are not noticeable (except to touch). My worry was that by adding makeup to the dry patches it would make them more visible and possibly worse, so I am really happy that this has not been the case and that it has improved the issue!
What are your thoughts?
